Google Adwords has recently made a change to how your ads pull up based on your match type. In the past, you could easily determine how you want your ad to show based off of:
1. Broad Match
2. Phrase Match
3. Exact Match

Exact match as you may know means you only want your ad triggered with whats inside your brackets. Example:
[golf clubs]

With the new updated version, they now may show your ads based on misspellings or plural phrases. According to their data, at least 7% of queries are misspelled. The Adwords team is trying to close that gap to show your ad. The user has the same intent, they just may have mistyped or misspelled a phrase.

For those that don’t like the change, you have the option of opting out of this feature. Simply navigate to your Settings tab and select “Keyword Matching Options” near the bottom.

Keeping Adwords advertiser on their toes, Google announced that ads setup initially to rotate will now automatically default to ‘optimize’ after 30 days if the ad has not been changed. Rotating ads is an effective way to find out which ads receive the highest CTR (click through rate) but left for long periods of time without changes can hurt the user experience according to Google.
